Isolde Koppenwallner, 52, Finalist of Miss 50plus Germany 2017 is talking about her exciting hobby which she startet in the age of 50…
“As a teeny I had an motocylcle accident as co-driver with my current husband. It was a shocking experience and I didn’t dare to accompany him any more. Unfortunatelly for me and for him, ‚cause he had to ride alone from that time on.
A few years ago I came to know a very smart girl, who just made her motocylcle drinving license in the age of 42. She talked about riding her Harley full of enthusiasm and pleasure. Furthermore she joins a Harley Club and I certainly thought about all the well-known clichés. Not less than rocker gangs and rowdies…! But the opposite. I accomponied her to the regulars‘ table and really had a lot of fun. Meeting the members became my monthly highlight and the sound of 20 harleys music to my ears. Celebrating my 50th birthday the decision was taken: I must ride a Harley and I have to get a motocycle driving license asap! It was rather easy to convince my husband by this idea and started immediately. A few weeks later I passed the theory test without any mistake and boah, it made me extremely proud. Also in practice I proved my talent and less than half of a year later I passed also the pracital part of the test successfully. I’ve been unspeakably happy and to my great pleasure totally without fear. No question that I bought a harley and the belonging outfit. I decided to buy a Sportster 1200 Custom, 67 PS, 260 kg weight and chose of course the original Harley-Davidson leather jacket, biker trousers and leather boots. Only the typical Harley helmet I changed against a integral helmet, that protects my head perfectly. Most important to me while riding my Harley is total concentration, thinking for the others and driving with foresight – last but not least you should never forget: there’s no crumble zone around you. I enjoy our trips to the full, which we finally can join together. Most oft he time we combine our tours with having a coffee in nice land scape or visiting a beer garden. It makes me feel so happy and for those who think that 50 is too old for a new and exciting hobby is totally wrong. Once more pure gooseflesh please! Girls show your passion!”
