It’s such a thing with cooking. With soccer too. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. Some have the coal in the grill for it, the others in the bank, but what the heck – in the end both of them probably want one thing: namely convince.
Now I am not a cook in main; anyway still want to bring something tasty to the table. My responsibility falls less in the grill department and I have no plans to change that. I think it’s like in millions of other households with us: the tasks are divided. And I mean completely free of gender, I notice again and again that it just works like that among partners. So you can already guess, my husband is the master at the grill and I prepare the ‚accessories‘.
Yesterday was such a day and basically nothing was planned or prepared; also not bought. This is how it works sometimes. Nevertheless, the German Soccer team played and it was time to go to the ‘field’ and make the most of what you find there. Footballers probably know what I’m talking about 😊. In any case, when I looked into the refrigerator, I noticed the bowl of rice, which was supposed to be light food for our young dog lady, because she had caught a stupid gastrointestinal virus. Since she disgusted it – as expected – I got the idea to quickly prepare a rice salad. I also encountered a few other ingredients in the refrigerator and then everything went very quickly.
Here are the ingredients
- rice (cooked, of course)
- black olives
- paprika (red, yellow or green)
- 1 dried tomato
- ½ red onion spring onions
- 6 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon honey mustard
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1 splash of lemon juice
Cut all ingredients into small cubes and fold into the rice. Pour dressing over it and mix well. A delicious rice salad is ready.
Depending on what the refrigerator / pantry has to offer, the following ingredients also fit:
So it can be almost quick and easy and we wish our footballers that, too, of course 😊
