Big donation and symbolic check hand-over
This huge sum of 27.000 EUR was generated by ‚Lions Club Frankfurt – Alte Oper Förderverein e.V.‘ during its fund raising dinner in October 2016 for „Frankfurter Verein zur Unterstützung von psychisch kranken Kindern und Jugendlichen e.V.“ which supports the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy of the University Hospital Frankfurt.
On Jan19, 2017 President Roswitha Hahn of ‚Lions Club Frankfurt – Alte Oper‘ handed over a 27.000 Euro cheque to the president of the Frankfurter Verein zur Unterstützung von psychisch kranken Kindern und Jugendlichen, Prof. Dr. Hans Moises, and the Director of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy of the University Hospital Frankfurt, Prof. Dr. Christine Freitag.
Under the name of the project „Adolescents in difficult psychic crises“ the „Lionesses“ were able to collect this phantastic amount during one year fulminating in the special fund raising dinner, a sum with which, in 2017, the rooms of the hospital accommodating adolescents in acute distress and danger will be renovated and ameliorated with mats for relaxing exercises, big mirrors for problems of anorexia, pleasant and solid furniture like new wardrobes, tables and beds. Furthermore the walls will be embellished with colour and art by the teenies as pictures cannot be hung up.
Prof. Freitag und Prof. Moises heartily thanked the ladies for this outstanding and extraordinary engagement which makes it possible to create a more pleasant and agreeable surrounding in these rooms for youngsters that are in a difficult phase of their lives. Additionally they added the following statement:
„The achievement of the ‚Lions Club‘ Ladies is exceptional and deserves our highest admiration. The patients in the clinic are looking forward to the renovated rooms with great anticipation.“
