When I was last on the catwalk for Lassal, the make-up artist worked especially on my eyeliner for about 10 minutes. And it was not a question of her qualification. In contrary, she’s a real professional and she told me: „Renate, especially the eyeliner must be totally perfect, otherwise the entire make-up loses its glamor.

This once again made me aware that the eyeliner is the most important for a perfect make up.

It’s a basic since years.

At the same time, the many brushes, products and tutorials show, that it’s not that easy to draw the perfect eyeline. I have also mastered myself and worked out a routine over the years. I stayed with the MODELs Lash Liner by Brigitta B. Behrends, because with it you can effortlessly draw all shapes and strengths with a little practice ultra-precise.

Lash Line

Tightlining is the technique to apply the eyeliner between the eyelash roots on the upper waterline how Brigitta B. Behrends shows in her tutorial (see below). As a result, the eyelashes appear fuller and longer. Since the pencil by Brigitta B. Behrends has a particularly fine felt tip, it is effortless to work very close to the waterline, which must be taken into account for the discreetly natural look.

In the classic version, you wear the eyeliner a little wider and let it expire a bit more from the middle of the eye to the rear.

The 60ies style celebrates the eyelid in XXL size. Deep black and extra thick it‘s painted in tapering lines on the eyelid. Amy Winehouse has made this expressive style her trademark, as did Brigitte Bardot or Audrey Hepburn.

Also very popular is the so-called, “Wing” look, in which the eyeliner is pulled over the eyelid like a wing. Which “wing” sweep suits you best and how long it should be in the best case, you just have to try out, it depends on your eye shape.

Most add a lower one to the upper eyeliner. This completes the picture around the eye and emphasizes the eye area. In short: make them an eye-catcher.

Derived from these basic forms, you can play with nuances, colors and variations and create wonderfully different looks.

How to

I’m a fan of the classic eyeliner and start with the eyeliner always something behind the inner corner of the eye and then go along the waterline to the outside. If you are less experienced, you can also set individual points along the lash line and then connect them together. To finish, I tighten the eyelid something to achieve a perfect result in the desired strength. If you like, you can soften the contour with a cosmetic brush afterwards. For the curved shape (wing look) it is best to use the lower lash line as an auxiliary line and imagine that it would continue to run outwards. As result, the end of the eye is slightly upwards. Because Brigitta B. Behrends’ eyeliner draws very fine lines, any shape and, in particular, the thickness is possible. In any case, you need a steady hand and some practice.

My favorite: the classic eyeliner!

Note

Which eyeliner best suits you depends on the eye shape and the distance between the eyes. Therefore, you can weigh a few theoretical hints and just try it out. Eyelines, which completely surround the lash line, make the eyes look even smaller. Same with narrow standing eyes.

From classic to extravagant, the eyeliner is and always will be the suprime discipline among the make-up do’s and here also applies to me: the simpler and better. That’s why I use the make-up series by Brigitta B. Behrends. More about the application and benefits of other products can be found in the following articles:
